Vinyl Plank is a synthetic plank inspired by many different styles.
This type of floor can be installed almost anywhere. Vinyl plank has specialized wear layers made with recycled content; these products are typically extremely low in VOC emissions. The multiple wear layers create an enhanced durability. Vinyl plank floors are fairly impervious to wet spills. Vinyl plank can be installed over concrete, as well as in moisture sensitive areas such as outdoor entrances.
With some vinyl plank floors having a fiberglass core this will make it a great product for cold areas. As it tends to keep the surface of the material acclimated to the temperature of the room. When vinyl plank is installed over concrete it will be warmer than the surface of sheet vinyl installed over concrete. Vinyl plank that is made with fiberglass can also be more comfortable than other hard surfaces like VCT tile. Vinyl planks that are engineered with a fiberglass core also offer acoustic properties which makes is a great product for any type of building.
